On December 3, the DCD-IT team participated in Cyber Christmas ’24, invited by BalkanWorks Ltd., in Sofia, Bulgaria.
This annual event, organised by CyberCLUB, Cyber Security Talks Bulgaria, and the Bulgarian XR Society, brought together the cybersecurity community with backing from Telelink Business Services, DIGITALL CEE, and BalkanWorks, among others. The gathering attracted several hundred experts and enthusiasts from various technology sectors, celebrating another successful year for the community.
Cyber Christmas ’24 offered attendees an exceptional chance to engage in hands-on demonstrations featuring virtual reality, drones, and robotics and participate in game scenarios highlighting best practices in cyber hygiene and "hacking" communication strategies in real-time.
The CTO of DCD-IT, Angel Atanasov attended the event. He met with our partners at Acronis, one of DCD's flagship offerings, and forged exciting new connections within the tech community.
A highlight of the evening was the enlightening lecture “AI vs. Digital Persona & Fileless Attacks” by Ivan Dudin, CEO of BalkanWorks, a trusted partner of DCD. But the event's first panel “Cybersecurity Trends” included many other compelling topics. Lyubomir Tulev from Telelink Business Services discussed “The Macro & Micro Shifts in the Cyber Threat Landscape,” and Petar Ararev from DIGITALL CEE delved into the theme “Zero Trust: How to Protect Ourselves in a Borderless World.”
The second panel focused on “Initiatives in the Cyber Community,” shedding light on socially responsible cybersecurity. Yanko Spasov emphasised the importance of personal cyber hygiene when using wireless connections in a memorable and cheerful way. Denitsa Kanaleva explored opportunities for higher education students, and Elena Kostadinova highlighted initiatives for improving cyber literacy for children in foster care.
Overall, Cyber Christmas ’24 provided an excellent opportunity to reflect on the 2024 achievements and lay out the plans for 2025, paying tribute to the significance of technology communities in the process. We, at DCD-IT, are thrilled and proud to be part of such a dynamic and vibrant professional network.
